Don has been creating exciting worlds for parents and kids
for 30 years, first with theme park rides at Midland Entertainment and
then in family feature development and programming.
His special
attraction films have been featured at the MGM Grand and the Luxor in
Las Vegas,
Busch Gardens and Sea World Parks in Florida, Paramount
Parks, Six Flags, and other parks worldwide – so no matter where you
live,
you might very well have already seen Don’s work!
Don’s favorite award he has won is the Themed
Entertainment Association (Thea) Award, honoring entertainment projects
that demonstrate the power of compelling environments and experiences
for guests and visitors.
After completing the 3D attraction film Robots from Mars – 3D Adventure,
which appeared in theme park rides and 3D theaters around the world,
Don decided to take the world of the film and turn it into a
revolutionary new kind of e-book that kids could read or watch like a
movie.
He is now working on a prequel series, The Sorcerer of Mars, and on his next two projects,
The Titan Adventure and Return of the Sorcerer, and he has films in development as well.
It has taken Don five years to create the
over 970
illustrations that have gone into the
Robots of Mars four-part series.
Don lives in Berkeley with his family and dog, Oliver, a
black miniature schnauzer. When Don
was a kid, he had a passion for
creating monster movies with his friends. Now, he spends hours imagining
and designing the Martian landscape – but always makes sure to leave
time to take Oliver on his daily walks around the neighborhood.
